Das Tracing braucht Articulare. Fehler an Ar verschiebt die Summe um mehrere Grad. Björk ersetzt keine KG-CBCT und beschreibt Atemwege ohne separates Preset nicht. Bei Fallbesprechungen CephCalc-Tabelle mit Profilfotos, Modellen und Kiefergelenkbefund abgleichen: Zahlen ohne Kontext führen leicht in die Irre.

Björk polygon: angles for students
NSAr describes cranial base and maxilla, SArGo the ramus, ArGoMe the mandibular body. The sum of three angles characterizes overall mandibular rotation in growth. S-Go/N-Me gives a vertical check. Teach sequence: individual angles, then sum, then clinical conclusion at residency review.

Ar, Go, and typical errors
Articulare is the most sensitive polygon point. Go must match the mandibular angle, not the molar region. With poor TMJ area quality interpret the sum cautiously and repeat on the next cephalogram. SN-MP in the preset helps cross-check the polygon with MP.

Combinations and limitations
Jarabak gives a parallel growth-type view without Ar. McNamara adds lengths. Slavicek and Björk often appear together in gnathology-oriented vertical protocols. Björk does not replace CBCT of the joint when TMJ pathology is suspected.

How does Björk differ from Jarabak?
Björk relies on the angle sum with Ar. Jarabak on S-Go/N-Me and Go. Clinically read both: polygon and height index complement growth prognosis.
How should a resident trace Articulare?
Ar lies at the intersection of the posterior ramus border and cranial base. Shifting Ar one to two millimeters noticeably changes NSAr and the sum. Align Ar with contour when the film allows.
What is the Björk angle sum norm?
Sum near 396°, often range 390–402°. Lower sum associates with more horizontal growth, higher with vertical. Always review S-Go/N-Me and the clinical picture.
What does Björk not cover?
Full structural Björk analysis and implantation line are outside the CephCalc core. Airway, Wits, and detailed soft tissue need separate presets on the same film.
